Here is a peek under the sheets, if you will – a look into the design direction I chose to update the blog with this time around. I wanted to create an Americana-style theme based on the colors used in World War I era Liberty Bond posters. I’ve long loved the historic beauty of these posters and would hang ‘em all over our house if I had the wall space. From the Library of Congress:
During World War I, the impact of the poster as a means of communication was greater than at any other time during history. The ability of posters to inspire, inform, and persuade combined with vibrant design trends in many of the participating countries to produce thousands of interesting visual works.
They’ve been a big part of the color scheming selection process and are a treasure – they’ll look even better once the site is finished so come often to see the changes.

I love the way the new site is coming together. Team USA! Seriously though, love the color scheme. It makes me want to put on my apron, heels, and bake a cherry pie for my husband (I should probably get one of those first).
My fave poster is the 4th from the bottom.
