Last month, Jes and I made a weekend trip to Amanda’s in Austin — it would be her last official weekend there, because we were happily welcoming her to her new life in Houston that week. We packed in so much fun that I’m sure I’ll forget something, but the weekend started with a welcome torte, followed by a jaunt to Krispy Kreme since Jes was craving donuts; which somehow inspired a spring feast of sorts, where we binge ate a mix of healthy and unhealthy things for dinner after playing at Sephora for a little while like three little girls. Forgive the run-on.
Drowning in Kreme.
You get one free if you’re there when they’re done. I missed photos of was the 4th grade birthday party going on during our visit. Imagine thirteen 9-year-old boys with sticky fingers, cheating as they race one another — balancing eggs on spoons. High on sugar.
I can’t honestly say I enjoyed Gourdough’s, it’s like a boat full of fat that even 100 sun salutations can’t reverse the effect of. But how I enjoyed the company!
Pictured above is Gordough’s Cherry Bombs: Donut holes topped with cake batter, gooey cream cheese and cherry pie filling, dusted with powdered sugar. No thank you. Below, the 2012 Country Living Fair, in Austin for the first time ever.
White people sure love them some old shit!
The first thing I spotted, sold damnit!
Amanda reminding me that I liked these, just not for like thousands of dollars.
Her Royal Highness Jessica, Princess of Aragon.
One of the best booths, shame on me for losing the vendor’s name.
Drinks at Bar Congress, swanky little spot.
